Celebrating Our Doctors

On March 30, as we observe National Doctors' Day, we invite you to join us in celebrating the extraordinary commitment of these medical professionals.

This is your chance to honor a doctor who has made a lasting difference in your life. By making a donation in their name, you not only recognize their remarkable efforts, but also help ensure Thompson Health continues to provide the highest standard of care across our system.

Your contribution will directly support critical needs, including medical equipment, advanced technology, and community health initiatives. These resources empower our doctors to deliver life-changing care-right here, close to home.

Honoring a doctor who has positively impacted you inspires them, telling them their efforts are valued.

Participating is simple. Use the enclosed form to name the doctor(s) you wish to honor and return it with your gift envelope provided. Alternatively, you can visit ThompsonHealth.com/Doctorsday to make your donation securely online. Feel free to include a personal message of gratitude to let your doctor know how much their care means to you.

When we recieve your gift, we will notify the physician of your tribute while keeping the gift amount confidential. It's a heartfelt way to show your gratitude and inspire our doctors as they continue their vital work.

Thank you for helping us recognize the dedication of our physicians. Together, we can honor their contributions and ensure they have the resources they need to care for your and your loved ones- now and in the future!

About Doctors' Day

National Doctors' Day is held every year on March 30th in the United States. It is a day to celebrate the contribution of physicians who serve our country by caring for its' citizens.

The first Doctors' Day observance was March 30, 1933 in Winder, Georgia.  Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, decided to set aside a day to honor physicians. This first observance included the mailing of greeting cards and placing flowers on graves of deceased doctors.

On March 30, 1958, a Resolution Commemorating Doctors' Day was adopted by the United States House of Representatives. In 1990, legislation was introduced in the House and Senate to establish a national Doctors' Day. Following overwhelming approval by the United States Senate and the House of Representatives, on October 30, 1990, President George Bush signed a bill designating March 30th as "National Doctors' Day."
