Intensive Care Unit

Thompson Health’s Intensive Care Unit is a specialized adult medical and surgical care facility for patients who need continuous monitoring, intensive nursing care, complex medical decision making and/or advanced respiratory support.

Opening in March of 2020, our state-of-the-art ICU is equipped to provide safe, high-quality, personalized care utilizing the most advanced bedside monitoring equipment and ventilators. Our staff is uniquely skilled in treating patients with challenging, complex conditions.

The ICU was designed around the premise of Patient-Family Centered Care. Our highly qualified team tailors care to each individual and their family’s needs. We know that having a loved one in Intensive Care can be overwhelming and emotional. We strive to communicate openly and often, with understanding and empathy. We take our responsibility to help family members very seriously.

General Information

Call-In Hours / Family Spokesperson:

We offer call-in hours 24 hours a day at (585) 396-6580. This allows the family spokesperson to call for updates on the progress of their loved one. A pin number will be provided to ensure privacy and HIPPA compliance. The spokesperson will need to provide the PIN number every time a phone update is requested. We ask that, if possible, you avoid calling for updates or asking questions of the health care team during the hours of 6:30 am to 8:30 am, as well as 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, to support our change of shift report. We appreciate your cooperation.

We kindly request you identify one family "spokesperson" at the time of the patient's admission to the ICU, to aid in communication flow and maximize the time we spend providing patient care.
