Speech Therapy

Speech Language Pathologists provide comprehensive evaluations and treatments for communication disorders of speech, language, voice, cognitive and swallowing disorders. Speech Pathologists educate patients, families and caregivers in regard to communication and swallowing disorders.

They advise individuals and the community on ways to treat speech/language disorders.

They also provide:

  • Swallowing evaluation and treatment
    • Clinical swallowing evaluation
    • Fiber-optic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES)
    • Modified barium swallow study (MBS)
    • Dysphagia Therapy in conjunction with NMES if appropriate
  • Speech/language evaluation and treatment
    • Expressive/receptive language disorders (aphasia)
    • Voice disorders 
    • Speech disorders related to Parkinson's Disease including Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) and SPEAK OUT!®
    • Augmentative and alternative communication
    • Fluency/stuttering/accent modification
    • Dysarthria
