2016 Diabetes Self-Management Class Schedule

Classes include two sessions, and are facilitated by a Registered Dietitian and a RN Certified Diabetes Educator. Choose from two 3-hour sessions on two seperate days (two seperate co-pays) OR one 6-hour Saturday session (one con=pay and free lunch)

SESSION 1 TOPICS:

  • What is Diabetes?
  • Learning to Live with Diabetes.
  • Monitoring and Managing Diabetes.

SESSION 2 TOPICS:

  • The Basics of Eating, Stress and Coping, and Physical Activity.
  • All about Insulin, Medications, Personal Health Habits, and Long Term Complications 

 

ONE DAY FORMAT CLASS DATES:

Saturday, March 12  •  8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center Conference Room, LUNCH INCLUDED
Saturday, October 1  •  8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center Conference Room, LUNCH INCLUDED

TWO DAY FORMAT CLASS DATES:

Tuesday, June 7 and Thursday, June 9 • 1-4 p.m. in Thompson Conference Center A - F.F. Thompson Hospital ground floor

• Co-pays vary depending on your insurance. (Please contact your insurance provider.)
• One significant other may attend the classes for free.
