Pain Management Services

Chronic pain is defined as pain that lasts longer than six months, is persistent, does not respond to standard therapies such as surgery, medication and bed rest, and may be severe. Chronic pain affects people physically and emotionally. Physical symptoms include muscle tension, loss of mobility, lack of energy and appetite. The emotional affects can be similarly devastating and include depression, anger and anxiety. Chronic pain is difficult to treat.

To aid in the relief of chronic pain, interventional pain management services are available through the Diagnostic Imaging Department at F.F. Thompson Hospital. At this time, available services include:

  • Lumbar epidural injections
  • Lumbar selective nerve root block
  • Sacroiliac joint injections
  • Facet joint injections

If you have questions about whether these procedures would be beneficial in your situation, please see your primary care physician. If applicable, your physician can then make a referral for these services.  Your physician's office can call (585) 396-6701 to make an appointment for you.
