X-rays were the first body scanning tests, discovered by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895. X-rays are made of electromagnetic radiation, like light, but have a shorter wavelength. These waves can enter the body and form an image on film. Today, there are many types of x-rays that can help diagnose numerous different conditions.
Thompson Health offers digital x-ray imaging, which delivers sharper images that can be rotated, lightened or darkened onscreen for optimal results. This reduces the need for repeat tests, thus lowering patients’ potential radiation exposure.
