Planned Giving

Would you like to make a significant gift to the F.F. Thompson Foundation and still retain the income from that gift? With a Charitable Gift Annuity you can do just that, and get a hefty charitable deduction in the bargain!

Charitable Gift Annuities
A charitable gift annuity is a way to give and receive. In exchange for an irrevocable gift of $5,000 or more in cash, securities, or other assets, Thompson agrees to pay you a fixed sum each year for life. In most cases, part of each payment is tax-free, increasing each payment's after-tax value. Payments to the annuitants can be made quarterly, semi-annually or annually. Upon the death of the donor, the principal is paid to Thompson and put to use as the donor requested.

How it Works
Here's how it works for a single donor age 65 - In exchange for an irrevocable cash gift of $10,000 the donor would receive:

  • An immediate charitable deduction of $3,028
  • A yearly payment of $670, paid quarterly
  • A portion of the income would be considered tax-free, thus raising the effective percentage rate paid
  • Upon the death of the donor, the principal is paid to F.F. Thompson Foundation, Inc. and put to use as the donor requested
