Infertility is More Common than You Think

OB/GYN Providers Can Help in Your Journey

Bessey Morgan, PADid you know up to 1 in 6 couples struggle with infertility? It is so common, but not commonly talked about!

Infertility is defined as not getting pregnant after one year of having regular sexual intercourse without using birth control.

If you are under 35 and have been trying to conceive for one year without success, or over 35 and trying to conceive for six months or more please reach out to your OB/GYN provider.

We often start the evaluation with obtaining a history and performing an exam. We order blood work, imaging of your reproductive organs, and partner evaluation.

Depending on results, sometimes there is medication that can be helpful, or we can refer you to the fertility clinic.

It is also common to feel frustrated and lose hope about the process. Mental health is so important in general, but especially during this process. There are resources available to help with these types of concerns as well.
