Thompson to Host Info Session on Becoming a CNA June 11

CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health is hosting an information session at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, for those interested in beginning careers as certified nursing assistants (CNAs).

Thompson covers the entire cost of the five-week CNA training course and pays participants while enrolled, with part-time benefits beginning immediately. Course graduates are guaranteed a CNA position at Thompson’s M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, which has a five-star overall rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Newly hired CNAs are expected to remain employed – in a full- or part-time position – for at least one year from certification. If they plan to further their education, they are eligible for tuition reimbursement initiatives and grants from Thompson, as well as promotional opportunities.

The one-hour information session will be held at the Continuing Care Center, 350 Parrish Street in Canandaigua. Those planning to attend must first register by emailing Yesenia_Rangel@URMC.Rochester.edu or calling 585-396-6824.
