BEE Award - Recognizing Extraordinary Nursing Support Caregivers at Thompson Health
What is The BEE Award?
(Being Exceptional Every day)
The BEE (Being Exceptional Every day) Award was created to honor healthcare associates who support the role of the Registered Nurse in meeting our mission to provide the best in patient care. This complementary relationship is what keeps Thompson Health so strong!
Nursing support team members are the “front line” staff and work closely with patients, family, and other staff to provide safe care during their hospital stay. They build positive relationships with the patients and families, which can be key to a successful recovery.
Just as the daisy can’t survive without the bee, nurses cannot survive without the support and outstanding teamwork from other colleagues.
How to nominate a nursing support team member for The BEE Award:
Patients, visitors, nurses, physicians, and employees are encouraged to nominate a deserving caregiver (other than a nurse) who supports the nursing staff and exemplifies the following characteristics:
COMMITMENT: Serves patients and their families by honoring UPMC in central Pa.'s mission
ACTION: Truly focuses on serving the patient
RESPECT: Provides dignity and respect to everyone he/she serves and encounters
EXCELLENCE: Strives for the highest quality and continuous improvement
SERVICE: Strives for the highest quality and continuous improvement
