Kathy L. of Environmental Services works on a “float” basis in Thompson Hospital every other weekend but works mostly on the Pines avenue in the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center.

When the vaccine first became available, she felt like there wasn’t enough information regarding it. Over the next few months, she talked to people about their experiences and thoughts. It was reassuring to her to learn that an 80-year-old relative had received the vaccine and was OK.

In the spring, she decided it was time.

“I was like, ‘You know what? I might as well do it,” she said. “I did it mostly for the residents and the patients, to make them safe, and for my family.”

Kathy said she felt “a little sick” after the second shot, but it didn’t last long.

“I have no regrets,” she said. “None whatsoever.”
