OB/GYN Practice’s Team Growing to Meet the Community’s Need

The Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) practice within the Canandaigua Medical Group recently welcomed three physicians.

First to join was Dr. Lauren Paraison.

After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language from Tufts University in Medford, Mass., she received her medical degree from the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She completed her residency at the University of Rochester, at both Strong Memorial and Highland hospitals.

Dr. Paraison previously worked at Women Gynecology and Childbirth Associates in Rochester. A member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, she is board eligible in obstetrics and gynecology.

Soon after Dr. Paraison’s arrival, Dr. Lydia Morrison joined the practice.

She received her bachelor’s in Health Science from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. After becoming a doctor of osteopathic medicine at Liberty University College of Medicine in Lynchburg, Va., she completed her residency at the University of Buffalo/Catholic Health System.

A member of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, she is board eligible in obstetrics and gynecology.

Both Dr. Paraison and Dr. Morrison are based at the practice’s Canandaigua office.

A third new physician joined the practice in January. Dr. Julia MacCallum is based at the new Farmington Medical Group building on Route 332.

Dr. MacCallum received both her bachelor’s in neurobiology and her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, later obtaining a master’s in public health from the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice in Lebanon, New Hampshire. She is an assistant professor with the University of Rochester Medical Center’s School of Medicine & Dentistry who served as the director for undergraduate medical education, the obstetrics and gynecology clerkship director, and the Strong Memorial Hospital site coordinator for the clerkship.
