Annual Fund Gifts Allow for Flexibility in Responding to Needs

In recent years, the generosity of our community through Annual Fund Giving has enabled Thompson Health to keep pace with the rapid advances taking place in health care.

“Annual fund givers are loyal supporters who are bonded to our organization’s mission. Thanks to their support, our patients are treated with state-of-the-art equipment, receiving care that is not only compassionate but delivered with the latest in available technology,” said F.F. Thompson Foundation Director Heather Rickett, whose office recently sent donation request letters to potential donors.

Heather said Annual Fund gifts provide unrestricted, current-use resources giving Thompson the flexibility to respond quickly to new opportunities and unexpected needs.  These gifts help strengthen the health system’s primary and secondary care services as well as upgrade and enhance medical technology. They also help attract and retain the best clinical staff, Heather added.

“When someone makes a gift to our Annual Fund, it means their entire contribution can be directed to where the need is greatest,” she said.

Annual giving gifts can be made anytime throughout the year in any amount, but many people give at year-end.

“The holiday season creates a generous spirit among philanthropic-minded individuals,” said Thompson Foundation Board Chair Krista Jackson, noting some people opt to set up a reoccurring monthly gift.
