In observance of World Diabetes Day, Thompson Health is presenting a public forum in partnership with St. Mary’s Health Council entitled “Diabetes: Envisioning Your Future,” on Friday, Nov. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua.
The event will feature keynote speaker Heidi Piper, MD, ophthalmologist at The Eye Care Center. There will be vendor displays, a light dinner, tips from health care professionals, facts on insulin from A1C Champion Bob Braun, recognition of Thompson’s Diabetes Support Group members. In honor of Veterans Day, there will also be an address by Chaplain Mark Henson, of Thompson Health, entitled “Remembering the Veterans.”
The cost of the event is a donation to the Blue Star Mothers, NY Chapter #1. Please bring a non-perishable item which will be sent to U.S. troops overseas.
