Thompson Health’s Deborah K. Weymouth will be one of the featured speakers at a January 23 seminar hosted by the Rochester chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, “CFO Perspective on the Healthcare Industry.”
Held at the Woodcliff Hotel & Spa in Fairport, the seminar will look back at what the past year has been like for the region’s hospitals, and look ahead to the challenges they will face in the coming year. Healthcare executives, community leaders, chief nursing officers and medical directors will be among those in attendance.
Weymouth, who left a successful career in banking, joined Thompson Health in 1995 as vice president of operations for its skilled-nursing facility. Today she is executive vice president and CFO of the health system, as well as chief operating officer of the hospital, and she is credited with helping Thompson achieve a positive operating margin for three years running. A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, she was in 2008 named by the Rochester Chapter of Financial Executives International and the Rochester Business Journal as “Financial Executive of the Year” in the category of small not-for-profits.
The other two featured speakers at the January 23 seminar are Warren Hern, Executive Vice President/CFO of Unity Health System, and Leonard J. Shute, Senior Director for Finance and CFO for Strong Memorial Hospital.
