CANANDAIGUA, NY- Deborah Weymouth, Thompson Health’s Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer, was recognized on May 15 by the Rochester Chapter of Financial Executives International and the Rochester Business Journal as “Financial Executive of the Year” in the category of Small Not-for-Profit.
The award honors financial executives who have made outstanding contributions to their organization and the Rochester area. In Weymouth’s case, that has included using her command of expense control and strategic asset deployment to get the health system – Ontario County’s largest employer – on solid financial footing. Her civic involvement, meanwhile, is wide-ranging and includes serving as founder and head coach of Canandaigua Aquatics. Several hundred local youths have participated in that program, with dozens going on to compete at the national level.
Weymouth, a former special education teacher and bank executive, has been the health system’s CFO since 2004 and its Senior Vice President of Operations since 1999. A former member of the F.F. Thompson Foundation Board, she first joined Thompson in 1995, as Vice President of Operations for what is now the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center.
