The 9th Annual Tour de Thompson raised $5,000 for Thompson Health’s Aftercare Program, a rehabilitative service which helps individuals with chronic disease maintain their level of function and independence in the community.
The bicycle tour, held on July 30, included three scenic routes around the Bristol Hills. A record 180 riders participated from five states, from as far away as Arizona and Texas.
“This tour has grown to become one of the major cycling events in the Finger Lakes,” says Tour de Thompson Co-Chair Ted Brewer.
The committee thanks the event’s gold sponsors – Leonard’s Express, Wegmans and Constellation Brands – and all the sponsors, volunteers and participants who made the event a success.
Next year marks the tenth anniversary of the Tour de Thompson, which will be held on July 28, 2012, and is certain to be bigger and better than ever. For more information, contact Dudley Hallstead at (585) 396-6917 or dudley.hallstead@thompsonhealth.com.
