CANANDAIGUA – The final numbers have been tallied, and it’s official: The 14th annual Rose Walk raised a record $23,000 for cardiac rehabilitation patients, shattering last year’s record $18,000 in proceeds.
Held June 19 at Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion, the event attracted community members of all ages who were drawn to the cause of assisting patients of F.F. Thompson Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation and Fitness Center regain and maintain their physical health and sense of well-being following a cardiac event.
Providing an extra boost to the walk’s fund-raising efforts this year were local “celebrity walkers,” including Assemblyman Brian Kolb, Ontario County Sheriff Phil Povero and Supervisor Ted Fafinski of Farmington. Thompson Health is grateful to these individuals and all of this year’s sponsors and participants. Special thanks go to presenting sponsor Finger Lakes Cardiology Associates; platinum sponsors Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Randall Farnsworth Auto Group; and 2010 Rose Walk Honorees Ron and Kay Charron.
