CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health will open the doors to its Mary Clark Thompson Family Practice on Monday, Oct. 16.
Three providers - Dr. Cynthia Teerlinck, Dr. Kate Skipton, and Physician Assistant Colleen Foote - will be moving from Canandaigua Family Practice on West Street into the new 5,400-square-foot space located at the new Sands Family YMCA, which recently opened on North Street.
“Having a family practice located within the YMCA is a huge benefit for community wellness and health education,” said Thompson Health Executive Vice President/COO Kurt Koczent. “The synergy gained from the collaboration will have benefits for decades to come.”
With 11 exam rooms, two treatment rooms, and five offices, the practice is It is named after the health system’s foundress, a philanthropist who was committed to bettering the community.
The space was built with expansion in mind and is able to house one additional physician and one advanced practice provider – nurse practitioner or physician assistant – in the future. Additional providers are expected to join by 2024, if not sooner.
Drs. Bryan Sandler, Ashley Leubner, and Joseph Duba, along with Nurse Practitioner Jamie Kline, will continue to see patients out of Canandaigua Family Practice at 3170 West Street, Suite 100.
