CANANDAIGUA, NY – Thompson Health is offering students entering ninth through 12th grades the opportunity to learn about healthcare careers through job shadowing and hands-on activities overseen by a variety of Thompson professionals.
The 2013 Career Exploration Day will be held at Thompson Hospital on Wednesday, July 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program includes lunch. There is a registration fee of $15 and registration is due no later than July 19, with the program limited to 25 students.
Each student will name his or her top three career fields to explore, and every effort will be made to accommodate those requests. Choices include the Laboratory, Emergency Department, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Diagnostic Imaging, Nursing, Cardiology, Obstetrics, Pharmacy, and EMT/Ambulance. Mercy Flight Central – which is not affiliated with Thompson but partners with Thompson in care – is also taking part in Thompson’s Career Exploration Day and is among the choices for students to explore.
