CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health Physical Therapist Kimberly Tonovitz will present “Be the Boss of Your Bladder” at Ferris Hills at West Lake on Saturday, May 4.
The 10 a.m. program is free and open to the public. It will be held in Rayburn Hall at the independent living community, located on Peg Rayburn Drive with the campus accessed via either West Lake Road (County Road 16) or Middle Cheshire Road.
Tonovitz, who has a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Utica College, works with outpatients at Thompson’s Canandaigua Rehabilitation location. In addition to being a New York State-Licensed Physical Therapist, she has a Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy and a Certificate of Achievement in Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy. She is also a Certified Childbirth Educator.
Attendees will:
- Learn the mechanisms of urinary dysfunction
- Understand the role of the pelvic floor muscles
- Learn how physical therapy can help improve bladder control
