CANANDAIGUA – To further support the smoke-free campus it established in 2007, UR Medicine Thompson Hospital is now offering nicotine replacement lozenges to both employees and hospital visitors.
The lozenges are available, upon request, at the information desk in the main lobby of the hospital.
Thompson has held a number of other smoking cessation initiatives over the past decade, including participating in the American Cancer Society’s annual Great American Smokeout and celebrating employees as “Health Heroes” for quitting smoking. During that time, the percentage of Thompson employees who smoke has dropped from 19 percent to 8 percent.
