CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health today held its 50th COVID-19 vaccine clinic for the community.
Director of Practice Management Catherine Shannon said the first community clinic was held Dec. 29 and, by the end of the day on Friday, April 16, Thompson will have administered more than 15,000 doses of the vaccine to community members. When including doses the health system has administered to both community members and its own staff as well as residents of its enriched living community, the total is more than 17,000.
Noting the recent rise in COVID-19 diagnoses locally as well as the prevalence of variants of the virus in the region, hospital officials are urging everyone eligible to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Available appointments can be found through the Finger Lakes Vaccine Hub – which coordinates with local health departments and providers – at www.flvaccinehub.com.
