CANANDAIGUA – Thompson Health Director of Patient Financial Services/Patient Access Penny Dodge showcased the health system’s successful use of electronic medical records (EMR) at a recent national conference.
At the McKesson Insight Conference in Indianapolis Aug. 5-8, Dodge presented a session called “Successful Management of AR Days Under 30 Using Paragon Revenue Cycle Management.”
During the presentation, Dodge recognized Thompson’s Patient Accounts Department for its role in submitting accurate and timely claims and statements to insurances and patients as well as managing the accounts receivable (AR). The presentation also recognized the Registration Departments (Patient Access Center, Scheduling and Emergent Registration) for the role they play in obtaining accurate information for patients presenting to the hospital.
“Thompson Health strives to meet the clinical needs of our patients while ensuring that we also meet the financial responsibilities of billing their accounts. Being able to share our successes with McKesson users across the country will help others with achieving financial stability as well as improving patient satisfaction.” said Dodge.
Thompson Health implemented its EMR system in 2012.
