Thompson Health, YMCA Offer Injury Prevention Program

Thompson Health, in collaboration with the Greater Canandaigua Family YMCA, will offer a special class for athletes of all levels in February and March called WIPP: Warm-up for Injury Prevention and PerformanceTM.

Participants can attend on any one of the following Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m.: Feb. 16, March 1 or March 15.

WIPP is a specially designed warm-up for maximum efficiency and conditioning, incorporating dynamic warm-up, plyometrics, strength, flexibility and agility. The program uses the five main components of SportsmetricsTM, a scientifically-proven jump training program, to help prevent injury and improve athletic performance.

 

WIPP is presented by Thompson Health Certified Athletic Trainer Jeremy Herniman. The cost to attend is $10 for YMCA members and $15 for non-members. Contact Thompson Health Sports Medicine at (585) 396-6050 for more information and register by calling the YMCA at (585) 394-6866.
