The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) recently presented the Thompson Guild with the 2008 Auxiliary Advocacy Recognition.
This statewide recognition honors auxiliaries that have committed significant time and effort to serving as advocates for their health care facilities and communities during the past year. Guild member Ann Hanley, of Naples, is Thompson’s HANYS Auxiliary liaison.
Through several generations, dedicated members of our community have given of their time, talent, creativity and hard work to raise funds for Thompson Health. During 2008, the Guild raised close to $125,000 to be used to purchase items for the health system such as a bone density scanner, bladder scanner, ultrasound machine, vital signs monitor for the Birthing Center and a Whisper Glider for the resident of the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center.
For more than 100 years, the Thompson Guild, a not-for-profit fundraising organization, has served the Thompson Health System and its surrounding communities. Today, the Guild has more than 150 members and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
