Thompson Grant Applications Due Oct. 1

CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine’s Thompson Health announces a call for applications for the 2016 fall cycle of the Mary Clark Thompson Health Grants. All local not-for-profit organizations whose programs improve the health and wellness of the community within the Thompson Health’s service area are encouraged to apply no later than Oct. 1 for funding through this opportunity offered by the F.F. Thompson Foundation.
Mary Clark Thompson’s spirit of community-minded philanthropy was the motivation for the creation of the Community Health Grants issued twice a year, in April and October. These grants enable the Foundation to invest directly in projects and organizations benefitting the health of the community. Grant awards range from $500 to $2,500 annually.
Applicants must be a 501(c)3 not-for-profit and be located within Thompson Health’s service footprint.
Programs/projects should:
- Have clear goals
- Address how the grant benefits the health and wellness of the area’s residents
- Provide measurable outcomes and financial viability
- Benefit the health and wellness of the area’s residents with special consideration to projects that include prevention of obesity and chronic disease
- Align with Thompson’s mission
- Include community partnering among not-for-profits within the Thompson service area
