CANANDAIGUA, NY- The lives of three local prostate cancer survivors were celebrated at Thompson Health’s 10th Annual Portraits of Strength and Courage on Thursday, Sept. 2.
An “unveiling of portraits,” the event honored Don Lo, James Labbuzeta, and Joseph Fitzgerald, who have not only bravely faced prostate cancer but helped others cope with the diagnosis. In addition, Bradley Stanton was recognized for his dedication to Thompson Health’s Man-to-Man Prostate Cancer Support Group, which he has facilitated for the last 12 years. Stanton is a prostate cancer survivor and was the featured speaker at the event this year.
“Brad has been an invaluable source of support to us for the past 12 years,” says Alyvia Burkey, Health Educator at Thompson Health, as she presented Stanton with an award at the event. “This is just a small token of our appreciation for all the work you do for our community.”
All prostate cancer patients, their families and those who wish to promote awareness of prostate cancer are welcome to join the Man-to-Man Group, which meets the first Thursday of each month at Ferris Hills at West Lake, Canandaigua.
