CANANDAIGUA – The executive director of a nonprofit organization that works to make recreation, sports and tourism opportunities more accessible will be the guest speaker at the Thursday, July 1, meeting of the regional Stroke Support Group hosted by UR Medicine Thompson Health.
Anita O’Brien, MA, is a certified therapeutic recreation specialist who – in addition to being its executive director – helped found Rochester Accessible Adventures in 2015. Her presentation to the Stroke Support Group is called “Creating Adaptive Adventures,” with the group meeting to be held via Zoom, beginning at 1 p.m.
This support group is open to individuals who have experienced a stroke, as well as their loved ones and caregivers. The group facilitator is stroke-certified registered nurse Sarah Gallagher, the stroke coordinator at F.F. Thompson Hospital.
