CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health honored several of its associates at its annual nursing awards dinner on May 9 in the hospital cafeteria.
Honored by the hospital were the following nurses in the following categories:
- Sarah Boyce, RN, of Canandaigua (Systems Thinking and Thompson Health Nurse of the Year)
- Chelsea McConnon, LPN, of Manchester (Clinical Inquiry)
- Aaron Parkhurst, LPN, of Waterloo (Caring Practices)
- Meggin Rowe, RN, of Canandaigua (Advocacy and Moral Agency)
- Dorria Sinack, BSN, RN, of Phelps (Facilitation of Learning)
- Jeanette Storie, RN, of Canandaigua (Clinical Judgment)
- Carey VanZandt, RN, of Naples (Collaboration)
- Heather Williams, RN, of Farmington (Collaboration)
Both Sheila Brundage of North Cohocton and Aaron Fitzgerald of Geneva were honored as the hospital's Technicians of Distinction.
For long-term care, George Cotter, LPN, of Stanley, was named Nurse of Distinction and Rebecca Bassett of Canandaigua was named Certified Nursing Assistant of Distinction.
Also at the awards dinner, Patient Transport was named the health system’s Department of Distinction.
