CANANDAIGUA – A six-part series called “Lifestyle Medicine & Nutrition” kicks off on Wednesday, April 6, with a free information session offered from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the ground floor conference rooms of the Constellation Center for Health and Healing at UR Medicine’s Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St. in
Canandaigua.
The series is about addressing the causes of disease, rather than just treating the symptoms. It will feature Dr. Kerry Graff of Lake Country Medicine in Canandaigua and Linda Rowsick, a registered dietitian and certified dietitian-nutritionist at Thompson.
Class participants will learn about:
- Lifestyle medicine
- How diet impacts your health
- The benefits of eating a whole food, plant-based diet
- How to transition to a healthier diet
The remaining five classes will all be held on Wednesdays, April 13 through May 11. The classes will meet at 7 p.m., with the exception of the May 11 class, which will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The cost for the five remaining classes is $100.
To register for the series (including the April 6 information session), call Thompson’s Wellness Department at (585) 396-6111 by April 1. Space is limited.
Participants will not be refunded for classes missed. Should a participant have extenuating circumstances, the
participant should submit a request for a refund to the class facilitator. Thompson Health reserves the right to review the request and consider refunding full or partial payment as appropriate.
