CANANDAIGUA, NY- Rick Gerger, CHFM, has joined Thompson Health as the Director of Facility Services/Safety Officer. His responsibilities include: overall management operations of Thompson’s facilities (i.e. maintenance, grounds keeping, security and construction management) and directing the Safety Management Program which is an ongoing process to minimize risk and threat to the welfare of patients, visitors, residents and Associates at Thompson Health. He recently completed training through Niagara County Community College and was certified by the NYS Department of Labor as an Asbestos Supervisor.
Prior to joining Thompson Health, Gerger was Assistant Director of Facilities at Nazareth College in Rochester. He’s currently completing his Master’s degree in Facility Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He has over 20 years supervising trade professionals.
Gerger is certified by the American Hospital Association as a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager and holds a universal level refrigerant certification from the Environmental Protection Agency.
