CANANDAIGUA – Cassie Weis, a pediatric nurse practitioner, joined the pediatrics practice at UR Medicine Thompson Health’s Canandaigua Medical Group on Jan. 31.
Weis received her associate’s degree as a registered nurse from Finger Lakes Community College, a bachelor’s as a registered professional nurse from St. John Fisher College and her master’s as a pediatric nurse practitioner from the University of Rochester School of Nursing. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in nursing practice at the U of R, with an expected completion in 2024.
Just prior to joining Thompson, Weis had worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester. She had previously worked as a nurse practitioner at two family practices in the region and, prior to that, in nursing at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Raised in Seneca Falls, Weis currently lives in Marion. Her passions in health care include children with autism and ADHD. Professional memberships include the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
Through the Canandaigua Medical Group, an affiliate of F.F. Thompson Hospital, Weis is seeing patients at both the Canandaigua and Farmington locations.
