CANANDAIGUA – The M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center recently received the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award from the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA).
A 178-bed skilled-nursing facility (SNF) operated by UR Medicine Thompson Health, M.M. Ewing is located at 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua and offers:
- Post-Hospital Services to help individuals requiring rehabilitation or restoration recover from illness, surgery and hospital stays
- Dementia care for those suffering from dementia/Alzheimer’s
- Long-Term Services for individuals who need 24-hour skilled nursing care
Recipients of the Pick award are identified using publicly-collected data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), with the data evaluated by an independent, third party. There are a number of eligibility requirements, including a variety of quality measures. According to the ACHCA, the award “is a distinction of significance.” Only 7 percent of SNFs nationwide qualify.
“This award is a testament to our incredible staff at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center. They are hard-working individuals who are dedicated to our residents and to providing high-quality care. I could not be more proud of them for achieving this honor,” said Thompson Health Vice President of Long-Term Care Amy Daly.
Daly and the administrators of the other high-performing SNFs were invited to accept the Pick awards at ACHCA’s National Convocation in Louisville, Ky. March 17-20.
