CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Hospital has opened a new, drive-thru pharmacy at the Canandaigua Medical Group, 335 Parrish St. in Canandaigua.
The pharmacy is open to all patients of Thompson Health, UR Medicine and its affiliates. Hours are Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In addition to being conveniently located across from the hospital and right off Routes 5 and 20, the pharmacy offers:
- Free searches for comparable, generic drugs to save customers money
- Prescription refills via an online mobile app or online portal
- One-on-one consultations with pharmacists
- Common over-the-counter drugs so customers who are picking up prescriptions can enjoy one-stop shopping
- Walk-in availability of common vaccinations, such as the shingles vaccine
“I would strongly encourage patients of Thompson and other UR Medicine affiliates to consider the benefits of using this pharmacy. Our doctors, lab sites and other system partners coordinate through one, unified medical record platform. This 360-degree approach means we will have better visibility into potential drug interactions and possible negative impacts of a drug on a patient’s state or condition,” said Thompson Health Director of Pharmacy Services Christopher Dailey, adding, “This is a huge aspect of patient safety, especially when patients are brought into the Emergency Department and may not be able to tell doctors which medications they are on.”
