Latest Community Health Grant Recipients Announced

The F.F. Thompson Foundation is pleased to announce the Fall 2010 recipients of its Community Health Grants. This grant program, inspired by the community-minded philanthropy of Mary Clark Thompson, enables the Foundation to invest directly in organizations and projects which enhance the health and well-being of the community.

The Fall 2010 Community Health Grants are awarded to:

• Bridges for Brain Injury for its Creative Connections Art Therapy Program
• The Canandaigua Police Department, to purchase an automated external defibrillator (AED) for the fifth of their five patrol cars
• Bloomfield Central School District for its Adventure Experience Program  at Camp Bristol Hills
• Literacy Volunteers of Ontario-Yates, Inc., to purchase educational materials for tutors and adult learners
• Wood Library for its new Geocaching Program
• Naples Little Bunch, Inc., to renovate this parent cooperative pre-school’s restroom and storage system

The Foundation awards grants to organizations twice a year, in the fall and spring, for projects that demonstrate a commitment to community partnering and align with Thompson Health’s mission.  Local not-for-profit organizations may receive grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 annually for individual projects based upon grant application, program plans and financial need.
