CANANDAIGUA -- “Cough. Sneeze. Laugh. LEAK?” is the name of a women’s health event being hosted by UR Medicine’s Thompson Health on Saturday, April 30, at Finger Lakes Community College.
Held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in FLCC’s Stage 14 and sponsored by Thompson’s Spirit of Women Program, the event will feature muffins, mimosas and Thompson Health Physical Therapist Kimberly Tonovitz. Specially trained in pelvic health, Tonovitz will tell women what they can do about female urinary leakage and incontinence. She will also discuss the role of physical therapy in decreasing or eliminating symptoms.
“So many women – of all ages – deal with these issues, and they really can achieve a better quality of life by seeking help. That’s why we want to get everyone together in a fun, lighthearted atmosphere to share information and help women empower themselves, for better health,” said Thompson’s Spirit of Women representative, Misty Ufholz.
In addition to the light breakfast, Ufholz said, there will also be prizes and “swag bags.”
Although the event is free, RSVPs are required. Call (585) 396-6375 by April 22.
