VICTOR – The Sports Medicine program within Rehabilitation Services at UR Medicine’s Thompson Health invites middle and high school athletes, coaches and parents to learn about preventing shoulder and knee injuries during a free event Saturday, Nov. 12, at Gorbel, Inc., located at 600 Fishers Run in the Victor hamlet of Fishers.
Discussing prevention through strength/endurance training, plyometrics and flexibility will be Athletic Trainer Jeremy Herniman of Thompson and Dr. Joshua Olsen, a sports medicine orthopaedic surgeon from Canandaigua Orthopaedic Associates. With registration and refreshments at 9:30 a.m., the presentations and
demonstrations will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Herniman and Olsen will give insight into the risk factors contributing to shoulder and knee injuries and demonstrate ways to reduce the risks.
