UR Medicine Thompson Health is hosting a free presentation on the causes and symptoms of a hernia on Thursday, Oct. 3, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Ferris Hills at West Lake.
The event will be presented by Drs. A. David Peter, Joseph Talarico, Andrew Powers, and Bradley Hensley. In addition to addressing hernia causes and symptoms, they will discuss benefits of minimally invasive surgery using da Vinci robotic-assisted technology. There will also be a hands-on demonstration of the da Vinci robot with the surgeons. All four are with Advanced Surgical Services at F.F. Thompson Hospital, which has Center of Excellence designations from the Surgical Review Corporation for hernia surgery, robotic surgery, and minimally invasive surgery.
Ferris Hills is Thompson’s independent living community. It is located at 1 Ferris Hills and accessed via Peg Rayburn Drive, a private drive connecting West Lake Road and Middle Cheshire Road in Canandaigua.
