CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health will host a free, six-week “Living Healthy Workshop” beginning Wednesday, July 11.
The workshop is designed for those who suffer from long-term health concerns or care for someone who does, as well as those who want to learn how to feel more in control of their own health.
Classes will take place in the Thompson Conference Center on the ground floor of Thompson Hospital at 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua. They will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. each Wednesday, with the last session on Aug. 22. There will be no class on Aug. 1.
Developed by Stanford University, the lessons over the course of the six sessions will cover:
- Techniques to manage symptoms including anxiety, stress, depression, fatigue, pain, frustration, limitations and more.
- How to start eating and exercising to improve your health.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- How to create an “action plan” for a healthier life.
