CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health will host a free, six-week “Living Healthy Workshop” beginning Tuesday, Feb. 25.
The workshop is designed for those who suffer from long-term health concerns or care for someone who does, as well as those who want to learn how to feel more in control of their own health.
Classes will take place in the Ewing Family Community Room at Wood Library, 134 N. Main St. in Canandaigua. They will be held 1 to 3:30 p.m. each Tuesday, with the last session on March 31.
Developed by Stanford University, the lessons over the course of the six sessions will cover:
- Techniques to manage symptoms including anxiety, stress, depression, fatigue, pain, frustration, limitations and more.
- How to start eating and exercising to improve your health.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- How to create an “action plan” for a healthier life.
