CANANDAIGUA – The Respiratory Therapy Department of F.F. Thompson Hospital invites the community to a Pulmonary Health Fair on Friday, Aug. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Thompson Conference Center on the ground floor of the hospital, 350 Parrish St.
The event will feature:
- Information on Thompson’s new Pulmonary Disease Management Program, which can improve the quality of life of people suffering from asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis and restrictive lung disease
- A spirometry testing station where visitors can learn how healthy their lungs are
- Asthma education and give-aways of free peak flow meters
- A medication teaching station, with free spacers and demonstrations
- Dr. Campion Quinn, author of “100 Questions and Answers about COPD,” will be doing a book signing
In addition, vendors will be on hand with information about new medications, Thompson’s Better Breathers Support Group, nutrition for chronic lung disease, smoking cessation, sleep disorders, new equipment and home care providers. Books and equipment will be for sale.
