Author: Anne Johnston/Tuesday, June 28, 2016/Categories: Press Releases

CANANDAIGUA - Sunset Serenades, Ferris Hills at West Lake’s annual summer concert series, will kick off on Wednesday, July 13, with a performance by Paulsen, Baker & Friends, featuring Tim Chaapel.

The six-week, Wednesday evening Sunset Serenade series is free and open to the public, with free parking available. Those who attend are strongly encouraged to bring lawn chairs because seating is limited. Each concert begins at 7 p.m. and – weather permitting – is held in the courtyard shared by the independent living community of Ferris Hills and its adjacent, enriched living community of Clark Meadows.

With guitar, banjo, fiddle, harmonica and mandolin, John Paulsen and Keith Baker have been performing together for more than 40 years and their “good time” music includes country, folk, rock and bluegrass, with a little comedy thrown in.

The remaining Sunset Serenades schedule is as follows:

July 20 – The Music Makers big band

July 27 – Jazz Reflections (four-piece band)

Aug. 3 – The Maria Gillard Trio

Aug. 10 – Nostalgic Reunion

Aug. 17 – The Eastside Swingtet (nine-piece big band)

Located at 1 Ferris Hills in Canandaigua, Ferris Hills at West Lake is part of UR Medicine’s Thompson Health. It is best accessed from the 3300 block of West Lake Road (County Road 16), via Peg Rayburn Drive. For more information on the concert series, call (585) 393-0410.
