CANANDAIGUA – The Service Excellence Team (SET) at UR Medicine’s Thompson Health
recently announced the winners of the health system’s Service Excellence Awards
for the fourth quarter of 2015.
The following each received a certificate and were featured in the employee newsletter as well as
on the internal television channel:

Clinical Services Tech Melissa Colbert, of Lyons. Colbert works in Thompson’s Laboratory Services department and was described in an award nomination as having an exceptional ability to put patients at ease.

Certified Nursing Assistant Patricia Forjone, of Canandaigua.Forjone works in Recreation Therapy at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center and was recognized for her flexibility and willingness to cover shifts for
other CNAs.

Patient Care Tech Shawn Woodard, of Canandaigua. Woodard, who works on 3 West in Thompson Hospital, was recognized for his positive attitude and providing compassionate care.

RN Kathleen Youngs, of Stanley. Also based on floor 3 West in the hospital, Youngs was
described in commendations as being especially empathetic and thoughtful.
The Service Excellence Award acknowledges Thompson employees who consistently deliver exceptional
service. These employees are selected each quarter by the SET, which reviews system leaders’ submissions of comments from patients, families and coworkers.
