VICTOR – The 20th and final Yarger Memorial Golf Scramble raised more than $15,000 for the Fralick Cardiac Rehabilitation and Fitness Center at UR Medicine’s Thompson Hospital, bringing the total donation from this tournament – in its lifetime – to over $200,000.
Held June 10, the tournament drew 144 golfers. Awards were given to the following participants:
- Closest to the Pin: Mark Hylwa
- Men’s Longest Drive: Mark Hylwa
- Women’s Longest Drive: Joan Eckert
- 1st Place: Kevin Bartz, Jerry DiBartolo, Adam Hendricks, Scott Vandeburg
- 2nd Place: Rick Dickinson, Duane Dickinson, Jay Kaufman, Jack Mahan
- 3rd Place: Matt Hoad, Tom VanOrman, Dave Thomas, Jimmy Johnson
- Last Place: Allyn Yarger, Christian James, Stephen Yarger, Kristin Yarger
The committee thanks all of the local businesses that sponsored the tees and greens, as well as those who contributed merchandise for the raffle.
The tournament was held annually in memory of the members of the Kay and Yarger families who have died due to cardiac illness. Bill Yarger, tournament chair, thanked the
Fralick Cardiac Rehabilitation and Fitness Center at Thompson during the closing dinner – with 200 people in attendance – and said, “While the tournament has ended, I’m certain that our family’s need for this department has not.”
