CANANDAIGUA – Michelle Vignari of Rochester was recently named director of Infection Prevention and Disaster Preparedness for UR Medicine’s Thompson Health.
A registered nurse certified in infection prevention and control, Vignari has more than 20 years in acute care settings and is a regulatory compliance subject matter expert and consultant in the area of infection prevention for Premier Healthcare Solutions, based in Charlotte, N.C.
She worked at Rochester General Hospital for 22 years, serving as its lead senior infection preventionist from
2005 through May of this year. In 2011, she was one of 12 professionals chosen nationally by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) as a “Hero in Infection Prevention” and is past president of APIC’s Finger Lakes chapter.
