CANANDAIGUA – A four-course Dinner Demo & Wine Pairing with an emphasis on healthy eating will be held Wednesday, May 29, at the New York Wine & Culinary Center.
Presented in partnership by Thompson Health’s Spirit of Women program and the Women’s Veterans Health Care Program, the event begins at 5 p.m. with registration, wine and a presentation called “Meal Planning for Your Health.” The dinner and demonstrations by expert chefs begin at 5:45 p.m. Each course will be heart-healthy, diabetes-friendly, and low sodium. In addition, the food will be paired with low-sugar wines from New York State.
Hors d’oeuvres will include butternut squash spring rolls and tomato bruschetta. Marinated portabella mushrooms with polenta cakes and arugula will then be followed by lump crab cakes with marinated potato salad and mustard sauce. Fresh fruit crepes will be served for dessert.
Recipes for all courses will be available at the conclusion of the event, which will include time for access to health and wellness experts including a registered dietitian and a diabetes educator.
