CANANDAIGUA – On Thursday, April 6, UR Medicine’s Thompson Hospital will offer “Carbohydrate Counting & Menu Planning” for people with Type 2 diabetes.
The prevention/management class will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. in the conference rooms of the Constellation Center for Health & Healing at the hospital, 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua.
Presented by Registered Dietitian Linda Rowsick, certified by the state of New York, this class will focus on which foods contain carbohydrates, as well as how many and which carbohydrates you can eat to help you achieve blood glucose goals, using the information to plan menus. Participants will plan at least one day’s menu of meals, and snacks if applicable.
The registration fee of $15 includes class materials. Those who register with a friend receive a discount, with a cost of $25 for the two people. Registration is non-refundable. To register, call (585) 396-6111 no later than Monday, April 3.
