CANANDAIGUA – In conjunction with National Diabetes Month, UR Medicine’s Thompson Health is offering a series of classes for those who are at risk of developing diabetes or want to learn more about managing this condition.
Held at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua, the classes will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. on three consecutive Wednesdays, Nov. 2 through Nov. 16, and are designed to help participants gather the tools to build a healthy future.
The first class, presented by a registered dietitian/certified dietitian-nutritionist, will focus on eating well. The second class, presented by an exercise physiologist, will cover using exercise as medicine. The third class, focusing on medical management of diabetes, will be presented by a registered nurse who is a certified diabetes educator.
The fee for the three-part series is $30 per person ($25 per person if taking the class with a partner or
friend). The deadline to sign up is Oct. 28 and space is limited.
