CANANDAIGUA – Ferris Hills at West Lake will host Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service’s 17th annual Caring for the Caregiver Conference on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.
This conference is designed to give both family and professional caregivers a break from daily routines, with information and suggestions about providing care and support.
With a theme of “Empowered Aging,” the conference features the following speakers:

Dr. Allen S. Teel, Full Circle America, Author of “Alone & Invisible No More”

Sabrina Vogler, LMSW, CPC & CGSS: “Mindfulness”

Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service (FLVNS), a program of UR Medicine Home Care, is a not-for-profit, Medicare-certified home health care agency serving Ontario, Seneca, Wayne and Yates Counties. FLVNS services include hospice care, nursing, physical and occupational therapy and long term home health care.
Ferris Hills at West Lake, the independent living community owned by UR Medicine’s Thompson Health, is located at 1 Ferris Hills in Canandaigua. Visitors to the caregivers’ conference may enter the campus via Peg Rayburn Drive, in the 3300 block of County Road 16 (West Lake Road), or via Clark Meadows Way, off Middle Cheshire Road.
